Canada welcomes more than 200,000 international students to the country each year. The students can receive work permit while on student visa which allows them to work and study at the same time.
Canada has some of the world’s top universities and according to QS World Ranking, 7 Canadian universities are in the top 200 in the world. The Canadian degrees are valued worldwide, and the cost of education in Canada is less as compared to many other global study destinations. .
Scholarships are also available for international students in Canada at undergraduate, graduate and post graduate level as well. It is a very accommodating country and encourages multicultural diversity. .
The study permit is a document issued that allows foreign nationals to study at designated learning institutions (DLIs) in Canada. Most foreign nationals need a study permit to study in Canada.
You may need a visitor visa or an electronic travel authorization (eTA) as a study permit is not a visa. This permit is valid for the length of the study program and extra 90 days.

Work Permit
Types of work permits
Most people need a work permit to work in Canada
There are 2 types of work permits: open work permits and employer-specific work permits.
Open work permits
An open work permit allows you to work for any employer in Canada, except for an employer:
who is listed as ineligible on the list of employers who have failed to comply with the conditions or
who regularly offers striptease, erotic dance, escort services or erotic massages
You can only get an open work permit in specific situations.
Employer-specific work permits
An employer-specific work permit allows you to work according to the conditions on your work permit, which include:
the name of the employer you can work for
how long you can work
the location where you can work (if applicable)
For you to be issued a Canadian work permit, there are specific requirements that you must meet. These requirements may differ depending on your location when applying and the type of work permit, you’re applying for. However, regardless of these various factors, one must meet the following requirements to be eligible for a work permit:
• Prove that you are financially capable of supporting yourself and your family during your time in Canada
• Prove that you’ll leave Canada once your work permit expires
• Not plan to work for an ineligible employer, i.e., employers who have failed to comply with the given conditions
• Have no criminal record
• Be of good health

EXPRESS ENTRY
Express entry is the fastest way to enter Canada. It is used to manage PR applications for three economic class immigration programs:
• Federal Skilled Worker Program
• Federal Skilled Trades Program
• Canadian Experience Class
It follows a point-based grading system – including language, education, work experience, age, job offer, and adaptability. Applicants receive the points based on a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
Applicants scoring equal or above cut-off are awarded an invitation to application (ITA). Though a job offer is not compulsory but it increases points.
Provincial governments also pick up from express entry. A provincial nomination also increases points.
If your Express Entry profile is accepted you get into the pool of candidates. You will be ranked in the Express Entry pool using a points-based system. Invitation to apply is awarded to the candidates with the highest scores in the pool. You will have 90 days to submit your application for permanent residence.
